The Foods of Mexico

 Take home a taste of real Mexican flavors and turn up the heat in your kitchen!

In this hands on cooking class, you will try your hand at

pressing and cooking tortillas, and roasting veggies for salsa 

and other sauces, grilling shrimp and beef, trying tamales 

and more.  Mexican foods are not inherently hot- so don't be worried, they are flavorful, spiced and fruity.

 

You will go home inspired, with easy-to-incorporate  techniques and recipes for your daily cooking and your taste buds and family will thank you!

We work hard to teach that confident cooking isn't just about a great recipe— but more about learning and understanding the properties of your ingredients as well as the techniques put to work in your recipe. 

In our classes you'll work (as much or as little as desired) together

with other students in a casual and encouraging hands-on environment

led by our instructors. We provide the fresh foods, aprons, recipes, equipped kitchen and instruction- you are welcome to bring your beverage of choice. 

Menus are seasonally inspired and locally source whenever possible.

Things To Know About Our Classes

  • All classes are for students age 18 or over, unless noted. 

  • You will be standing, for most of the class (special accommodations can be made, when necessary).

  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have hair tied back or covered (men & women).

  • You will enjoy a generous taste of each item prepared

  • Classes are limited (8-10 students). and last from 2.5 hours unless otherwise noted. Start time for classes can be found on registration page. 

  • Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable to future UNCork events or persons-as long as you cancel 24 hours before the event. 

 

Participation in a hands-on class places you in a typical cooking environment with inherent risk. By registering for a cooking event you agree to release the staff, employees and contractors, from all liability arising from direct or indirect damages or injury.

We reserve the right to substitute menu items and ingredients due to availability.

As a participant, you agree to be photographed or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in promotional material.
