Spend three and half hours in the kitchen working on various techniques and recipes based on some of the famed chef, Julia Child’s favorites. As we finish up our cooking and head to the dining room, we will have a visit from Julia Child.
Actress Karen Varanch is well known for her one woman shows across the US, and she will bring the indomitable Julia Child to life in her private visit with us. Channeling her inner Julia, Karen will expound on the life and times of Ms. Childs and regale us with stories and laughs from Julia's time as the "First lady of Food.” Class will run approximately five hours long with cooking, dining and performance.
Includes: all foods to be prepared, hands on instruction, all equipment, aprons, bottled waters, and limited adult beverages during meal, and of course the presentation by Julia. Please bring a paper copy of your Paypal receipt to the event.
Things You Should Know About Our Classes
All classes are for students aged 18, unless noted.
In our hands-on classes, students prepare the meal together under the guidance of the instructor. Typically, a hands-on class consists of three segments: a brief lecture and demonstration; cooking time; and, of course, sitting down and enjoying the prepared recipes. We structure hands-on classes to enable all participants to cook all the recipes.
For a hands-on class, please dress in casual clothing and comfortable, closed-toed shoes, with hair restrained (men & women). Most hands-on classes are limited to 10 students and last from 2½-4½ hours unless otherwise noted.
Participation in a hands-on class places you in a typical cooking environment with inherent risk. By registering for a cooking event you agree to release the staff, employees and contractors, from all liability arising from direct or indirect damages or injury.
We reserve the right to substitute menu items and ingredients due to availability.
As a participant, you agree to be photographed or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in promotional material.
